Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Creedmoor Drive

One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle Thursday afternoon.

It took place around 2pm on Creedmoor Drive south of Blalock Circle in Wayne Township.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 76-year-old William Parry, of Zanesville, was driving east from a private drive onto Creedmoor Drive when he struck a pedestrian, 89-year-old Amanda Bontrager. The patrol said Bontrager was in the southbound lane of Creedmoor Drive. The patrol said Bontrager was pronounced deceased after being transported to Genesis Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
