Meet Peter: The Animal Shelter Society Pet of The Week

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Animal Shelter Society is excited to spotlight Peter as this week’s Pet of the Week.
Peter, a one-year-old shepherd pit mix, is capturing the hearts of everyone he meets. This loving canine is in excellent health, neutered, and up to date with all of his vaccinations. His friendly and energetic nature might make Peter a perfect match for those considering adding a furry friend to their family.
“Peter’s just a really good dog. Just a year old. He’s very high energy. He loves people. He loves getting a bath. He likes going on a car ride. He loves his swimming pool in the summer. So, he’s just a really good dog,” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director April Gibson said.
Get ready to laugh for a cause! The animal shelter’s “Just Kitten Around” Comedy Club event is set for next Friday, February 2nd. The event will be at Bryan Place from 6 to 10 PM, with the show starting at 8. Tickets are priced at $20 and can be purchased online or at the shelter. Dinner and drinks will be available to purchase. The proceeds will go towards supporting the Animal Shelter Society.
“As a 100% nonprofit, that’s how we’re able to take care of dogs like Peter. Bringing them in and helping them. Just like earlier today, we went out with our partners, the K9 Center, and was able to pull 7 dogs for them to try to help them out. That’s what it’s all about,” Gibson said.
