TEDMED at the John McIntire Library Auditorium
For the very first time the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department is hosting a TEDMED conference.
The event usually costs thousands of dollars to attend live in Washington D.C. But thanks to the work of the health department the event is being streamed live at the John McIntire Library September 10-12 . Jody Stones, the community health planner for the health department said it’s a way to think outside the box about health practices.
"It’s really outside of the box very different way of thinking maybe about research and practice," Stones said. "I just loved it because it makes you think a little deeper about health and medicine."
Not only is the event good for healthcare professionals, but Stones said that it is a good opportunity for people to learn a little something about different healthy living techniques.
"I think it’s done in a way, and the speakers are exciting and engaging. They’re good speakers, they’re not boring," Stones said. "So I think the language itself anyone could understand it. It’s not just medical terminology and medical speak. Someone who just wants to learn more and hear more about health topics would still get a lot from it, I think."
The event is free to attend and you can learn more about it at the health department’s website, www.zmchd.org.
