William Joseph Murphy (February 9, 1930 – July 31, 2016)

William (Joe) Murphy, 86, left to be with the Lord and the love of his life, his wife Dot on July 31, 2016.
He was a Korean War Veteran, who served his country with honor. He retired from Burnham Broiler Foundry after 47 years of service.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He left behind his three children Bill (Carol) Murphy of Zanesville, Debbie Murphy of Zanesville and Peggie Plant of Newark; eight grandchildren Joe (Sara) Murphy, Andrew (Abby) Murphy, Brittany (Ryan) Byers, Matthew Murphy, Kasey Plant of Austin, TX, Jacob Plant, Alisa Kohler and Adam Kohler; eight great grandchildren Miley, Bella, Will, Ava, Evan and Eli Murphy, Adelyn and Marcus Byers.

Preceding him in death was his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; his parents, John & Piney Belle (Smith) Murphy and all his brothers and sisters.

Friends may call 6-8 Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Thursday, August 4, 2016, in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Dr. James Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery with full military honors by the George Selsam V.F.W. Post 1058.
