Meth Lab Busts in Perry County
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office releases information regarding the seizure of three methamphetamine labs within the county.
The seizure of the first lab took place on October 10 at 7626 State Route 669 in Somerset. Deputies with the Perry County Sheriff’s Office along with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant and seized an active methamphetamine lab and lab making materials. No arrests were made.
October 24, the Sheriff’s Office searched a home at 11180 Buzzards Glory Road in Crooksville. A string of thefts earlier in the evening led Crooksville Police Officers and Deputies to the home. There they seized lab making materials and made two arrests. However, they were later released pending further investigation into the incident.
The final bust on October 27 at 7411 Township Road 87 in Thornville yielded an active meth lab in both the living room portion of the home as well as in an unattached garage. Somerset Police assisted at the scene. Three people were interviewed and released pending formal charges being filed at a later time.
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office said each of these cases take time to investigate and develop. Although no criminal charges were filed right away in these cases the Sheriff’s Office said narcotics detectives will continue to investigate each of the incidents and charges will be presented to the prosecutor at a later date.
