Janice Weaver

Janice Elaine Weaver, 85, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (May 23, 2024) at her home.

She was born September 24, 1938 in Darlington PA, daughter of the late Charles McGath and Leola (Callahan) McGath.

A graduate of American Home School, Janice was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, reading, watching Jeopardy, and playing Scrabble.

She was a member of the Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Eugene Weaver, who passed away May 29, 2016. They were married July 15, 1955. Also deceased is a son, Kevin Weaver, who passed away June 30, 2015; two brothers, Willis McGath and Terry McGath; and a sister, Vivian June Marshall.

Janice is survived by two sons, Russell (& Debbie) Weaver of Gainesville FL and Shawn (& Shannon) Weaver of Byesville; a daughter, Pamela (& David) Rider of Nashport; a daughter-in-law, Leah Weaver of Zanesville; a sister-in-law, Debbie McGath of Cambridge; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild: Dr. Kristina (& Michael) Loomis, Nicole (& Todd) White, Brittney (& Corie) Payton, Lexee Pletcher (& Mason), Shaun Pletcher, Zane Pletcher, Brayden Payton, Brayleigh Payton, Boone Payton, Ryan Rider, Conner Rider, Gavyn Rider, Summer Rider, Adrienne Trenner, Liam Weaver, Noah Weaver, and Hendrix Samson; and several nieces & nephews, including a special niece, Nancy.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (May 28, 2024) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating.

She will rest in Buffalo Cemetery.
