Mission Oaks Garden Reveals New Residents

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – One local garden is giving fairies, elves and gnomes a new place to call home.

The event took place earlier this morning at Mission Oaks Gardens. Event Coordinator, Angel Mack said John McIntire Library partnered with them Saturday, offering crafts and fairy story time to the children.

“This is the first time that we are revealing this to the community. We hope that this garden entices children and families to visit the gardens more often. There is a mailbox that they can write the fairies and gnomes and leave a letter and return to the gardens to see if they wrote them back,” said Mack.

Mack said what’s special about the garden is that they offer events and workshops to not only the children but, to adults as well.

“Most importantly we want to show the children how creative you can be with using sources from nature, in the hopes that they grow to appreciate the importance of growing plants and trees. Not only for viewing pleasures but, for food sources as well,” said Mack.
