Organizers Call The ‘Schubach Big Band’ a Success

Concert 2 Bc

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Area residents were invited to a party in a park on Sunday.

The ‘Schubach Big Band’ is presented its annual free concert of big band classics and contemporary music. The event took place at Zane’s Landing Park near the Lorena in Zanesville.

“It’s our gift to the community, we’re really excited to be here. We’re going to play swing band music, we’re going to play rock n’ roll, we’re going to play some ballets. We’re going to play a little bit of everything. We say it’s a big band concert disguised as a variety show. We are glad so many people have turned out tonight,” said David Schubach.

Schubach said it’s a wonderful thing that the local residents still like to come out to enjoy the band perform live and it feels good to receive all of the support from the community.

“They’re going to, I hope be surprised of the power of the band. It’s a 17 piece big band, we play nice and full and I think they’re going to be surprised at the variety. They’re going to hear some things that kids would know and the elders will like in the mood and things like that,” said Schubach.

If you missed the Schubach Big Band today you can catch them performing live on September 2nd during the First Friday ‘Art Walk.’
