Snow Falling in Southeastern Ohio

The Ohio Department of Transportation makes itself ready to fight the snow that’s moved into our forecast.

District 5 which covers Muskingum County announced Sunday night they will have 83 plows ready to fight the snow Monday morning for those heading off to work and school.

ODOT said the first snow is the worst meaning no matter the amount of precipitation folks need to remember to slow down and keep plenty of distance between you and the next vehicle to avoid distractions.

This year ODOT has completed the installation of green, white and amber lights on all 1,700 snowplow trucks in its fleet. The color combination makes teh plows more visible.

A number of accidents are being reported around Muskingum County.

We do have a number of school closings and delays on our website. You can find them by clicking the closings tab.

Coshocton County, Licking County and Muskingum County are under a level one snow emergency which means roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow, due drive with caution.
