Hunter Dies in Accident
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources said that the victim of an apparent hunting accident has passed away.
The victim is identified as 26-year-old Adam Shinn. Monday afternoon emergency officials responded to a wooded area near 5475 French Road for a reported shooting. Muskingum County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Lococq said at the time Shinn was shot in the chest and transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital, unresponsive.
An ODNR spokesperson said that the on-going investigation has shown that there is a suspect they’re pursuing and that it was a person in Shinn’s hunting party.
The spokesperson calls the incident an unfortunate accident.
Once the investigation is complete the case will be handed over to the prosecutor’s office for possible charges.
ODNR is working in conjunction with the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.
