Lori Jean (Thompson) Daugherty (63) of Zanesville, OH, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, grandmother, and friend went to heaven on June 23, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Lori was born on April 9,1961 in Zanesville, OH to Marvin “Burl” and Barbara (Bruce) Thompson.

Lori graduated from Maysville High School in 1979. She retired after 18 years from Eye Surgery Associates of Zanesville and went on to help run the family business. Lori loved traveling and spending days on the beach with her sister, cousins, and friends. She enjoyed her swimming pool and laughing with her sister. Lori spent her time enjoying her family and friends, and celebrated life with those closest to her whenever she had the opportunity! She loved country and bluegrass music. Her smile and laugh will long be remembered.

She was preceded in death by her father Burl Thompson, paternal grandparents Beulah and Floyd Thompson, and maternal grandparents Stella and Sherman Bruce. She also joins several aunts, uncles, and cousins that have gone before her.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 30 years, Luke Daugherty. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Thompson, her sister and best friend Beth Cope, her children Casey (Jamie) Daugherty of Frazeysburg, Sarah (Steve Fowler) Ross of Zanesville, and Nathan Ross of Zanesville, and a sister in-law Kathy Payton and brother in-law Tracey (Laurie) Daugherty of Indiana. She is also survived by her grandchildren Steven Fowler, Shilo Fowler, Henley Ross, Slade Fowler, Brentlee Daugherty, and Paislee Daugherty. She leaves a niece Erin Coconis, and nephew Chad (Shannon) Coconis, and great nieces and nephews Karsyn Shatto, Costa Coconis, Allie Shatto, Sam Coconis, and Reed Coconis. Lori is also survived by her dog Oscar and friends and neighbors who loved her and will miss her.

The family appreciates the compassionate care and dignified support provided by the James Cancer Center, Genesis Hospice, nurse Jeremy and chaplain Tim Patton, and William Thompson & Son Funeral Home. Cremation and a celebration of life will be held at a later time.
