Thornville Woman Dies in Crash

A Thornville woman is dead following a one vehicle accident Monday evening. 

The Granville Post of the State Highway Patrol said that 79-year-old Vivian Caldwell, of Thornville, was driving a 2002 Hyundai Sante Fe on North Fifth Street in the Village of Hebron when she crashed just after 6p.m. 

Troopers said Caldwell drove off the left side of the road into a waterway where the vehicle overturned and became submerged. Troopers said their investigation revealed that Caldwell was wearing her seatbelt and no alcohol or drug use is suspected at this time. 

The crash remains under investigation.
