Christ’s Table Preparing for Christmas Day Dinner
Christ’s Table is getting ready for one of their busiest days of the year.
Christ’s Table is the only community food pantry open and serving dinners on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This afternoon we spoke with Executive Director, Keely Warden, about their big Christmas Day dinner they’ve been preparing for.
"We will be delivering to our home bound group, which we want to thank our dedicated volunteers that come in and make sure that our home bound people get their Christmas dinner and we also pick up quite a few out in the community that may be missing a meal from their other home delivery services that aren’t delivering on Christmas Day. We’ll pick those people up too to make sure that they have Christmas dinner."
Tomorrow, Christ’s Table will be delivering about 200 meals to homes in the community, and about 150 to 200 meals will be served to those who come in to eat in their dining room. Warden says they’ve had a tremendous amount of help this year.
"People love to come in and we thank them for that, they love to come in and share their holiday time with us here at Christ Table, so we’ll probably have about 50 volunteers here tomorrow. We shift them out so everybody gets a good experience, coming in and sharing their holiday happiness with us."
Christ’s Table would like to add a big thank you to the entire community for helping them to feed God’s hungry children and would also like to say Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.
