Isabel Bachtel

Isabel Bachtel age 91, of Caldwell, OH formerly of Akron, OH passed away Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Altercare Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. She was born August 12, 1932 in Akron, OH a daughter of the late William Cody Lee and Genevieve Evelyn Salsgiver Lee.

She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Akron for many years. She spent much of her career caring for the elderly in her community, in her home.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Paul Bachtel whom she married August 15, 1987 and who passed in 2017; brother William Edwin Lee; brother-in-law Gayle C. Bachtel; niece Marisa Futral and nephew Austin B. Blake III.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son George Sports of Akron, OH; several grandchildren; sister and caregiver Gloria G. Lee Bachtel of Cumberland, OH; special niece Dawn Blake of Cumberland, OH. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends for a Funeral Service Friday, July 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with her brother-in-law Harold Bachtel officiating.
