Golfing In December

Sled riding, skiing, snowmen and golfing? One of these activities is something we don’t normally see in December.

The unseasonably warm weather means good things for golfers. Golf enthusiasts flocked to Green Valley golf course Saturday to enjoy their favorite summer activity, in December. One golfer, Gary Minner, enjoys December golfing every year, but says the warm weather is welcomed.

"I don’t think we’ve missed a December in what, the last ten years. Oh this is gorgeous, you couldn’t ask for much better weather in December," said Minner.

For many golfers spending an afternoon on the course is about much more than the game. It’s about spending time with family and friends.

"I’m just happy to see everyone out here," said golfer Louise Edwards. "I’m really surprised but the grass is green, and if the grass is green, and I heard last night that the bears are out of hibernation because they’re kinda confused about the weather also."

We’ll have to check into those hibernating bears, but one thing’s for sure. The warmer weather means hibernating golfers get to head out to the greens for extra days of play.
