A Weekend to Remember
A former Ohio State Buckeye great and professional basketball star is coming to Coburn United Methodist Church.
Jerry Lucas who is now an education innovator will be presenting his world renown seminar "A Weekend to Remember" at the church from Saturday January 31 through Tuesday, February 3. We spoke with lead Pastor, Dr. Dennis Baker, about the upcoming event.
"He’s going to be here on Saturday, January 31 for our Muskingum County Christian Athletic Award breakfast, where we honor the Christian athletes in schools in universities in our area. He’ll be the featured speaker for that day. And then on Sunday he’ll be with us in worship at our 8 o’clock and our 10 o’clock services. And then, he will be here on Monday at 7 o’clock and Tuesday at 7 o’clock to share with us about his learning system as well as his memory system."
Throughout his life, Lucas has taught his memory retention and learning systems to millions. Pastor Baker says the event is open to the public.
"We welcome anybody that would like to come out. There will be many people that will remember him when he played basketball at OSU as well as professional basketball and many people will know him today for his memory system and his teaching style."
