Organizers Call ‘Cuts For Kids’ a Success!

Cuts Success Bc

18 different barbers and hair stylists gave out free hair cuts to area children starting school this fall.

The event was a joint effort between the Zanesville Fire Department along with the local EMS and area law enforcement. Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, Detective Amy Thompson said she wants everyone to leave the event with extra self confidence starting school year off right.

“All of our first responders out there I want them to have a good positive experience and walk away with self confidence starting school and maybe a good interaction with law enforcement and first responders,” said Thompson.

Thompson said the event was planned to encourage positive relationships between first responders and community.

“With all of the negative publicity going on, I thought what can I do to help out? What can I do for the community? A good positive interaction between us, first responders and the community, kids and parents. Just basically having a good interaction whether or not we are out on a scene or we’re just in a scenario like this,” said Thompson.

Detective Thompson said they plan to make this an annual event.
