The Annual 4H Junior Rabbit Showmanship

The Annual 4H Junior Rabbit Showmanship took place Wednesday.
We talked to the Senior Rabbit Ambassador, Hannah Henry who has been showing rabbits for 13 years. She told us the 4H Junior Rabbit Showmanship is something she looks forward to all year.
“It’s really amazing to realize that although we’re small this we still get the recognition that we do. Most people just come to the fair to see the cattle, hogs, the lambs not very many people stop by the Rabbit Barn that are actually not looking for a pet bunny that they got at ‘We Love Pets’ or “Petsmart.’ It’s nice to know that the rabbit barn is involved and recognized by the people in Muskingum County,” said Henry.
Henry said the judges judge the contestants based on their actions and knowledge, she said juniors should know all about their breed based off of the Abra standard.
“Some of the benefits is that you get feedback from your judge on what you can improve on with your rabbit or what you need to start looking for or what you need to start doing. You get a lot of positive and negative feedback but, it’s also very helpful to know what you need to look for or what you can improve on,” said Henry.
