New Year’s Arrest at Putnam Tavern

A man was taken into custody early on New Year’s Day at Putnam Tavern.

Captain Doug Merry with the Zanesville Police Department says officers responded to the tavern around 1:30 a.m. after reports of a fight.  The altercation apparently started inside and moved outside.  According to Captain Merry, an officer chased 23-year-old Anthony Dale McBride of Zanesville back into the bar.  He was then taken into custody.

Captain Merry said McBride had a firearm on him and will face charges of carrying a concealed weapon, a fourth degree felony, and illegal possession of a firearm in a liquor establishment, a third degree felony.  No other information was available.
