Muskingum County Welcomes The 2015 Baby New Year

The first baby of 2015 in Muskingum County has arrived.

Arabella Grace Weil was welcomed into the world at 7:28 a.m. New Year’s Day at Genesis Bethesda Hospital. The lovely baby girl weighed in at 6lbs 13.1oz and is 19 inches long. We sat down with the New Year’s baby’s parents Alexis Mitchell and Michael Weil. Through tears of joy, Mitchell explained the reason they named their daughter Arabella .

“We really didn’t know,” said Mitchell. “So we were just looking up names and we found it, and it said that the meaning of it was beautiful so we picked it, it was perfect.”

A fitting name for a beautiful baby. In total, three babies were born at Bethesda Hospital on New Year’s day 2015. However, the very first baby of the new year was welcomed with a special gift.

“Yes, we get stuff from corporate communications gives us a basket of just different gifts inside,” said the Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery, Colisa Glass. “And then from our unit alone we give them a really nice globe from Things Remembered and it was a snowman, it’s very pretty.”

Arabella and her mother Alexis are both healthy and happy. They will be released from the hospital tomorrow. We extend our congratulations to the first time parents.
