Jim ”JimBoy” B. Worstall, 87, of Zanesville passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he lived a life full of passion and joy.
Jim was a man that truly loved life. His heart was boundless when it came to his family, who meant everything to him. He had a zest for living that shone brightly in all his pursuits. An avid golfer and race car enthusiast, he found immense joy in the thrill of the game or the race and the racetrack. Lori took him on a drive to the see the racetrack just last Sunday. His love for mustangs and race cars was matched only by his deep appreciation for America and the American dream, including the American flag which he cherished deeply.
Dad loved America and the flag so much that he had his race car decked out in stars and stripes. It was only discovered a few years ago how he came up with his race car number 98. He added up all of his family’s birthdates. He, his wife and children. (7,30,29,23,9)
Jim was known for his warm spirit and genuine kindness he extended to everyone he met. He never met a stranger. His vibrant personality and unwavering love for people made a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was a member of Sertoma, Grotto and Crystal Springs Golf Club for many years.
He is survived by his children, Lori (Dana) Mills, Beth Worstall, Dan Worstall. Grandchildren: Brandon and Austin Mills, Presley, Hannah and Olivia Worstall and Great Grandson, Grayson Mills. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jack and Rachel Worstall, his wife of 61 years MaryAnn, his sister MaryJane Neff and brother Richard Worstall.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Thursday, August 8th from 4:00-6:30 pm at the Bryan & Hardwick Funeral Home with funeral service at 6:30 P.M. with Celebrant Jeff Hardwick officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Animal Shelter Society, Inc. 1430 Newark Road Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or Christ’s Table, 28 S 6th St, Zanesville, OH 43701, honoring his legacy and love of his community.
Jim will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for his boundless enthusiasm, love for family and the joy he brought into the lives of others.
