Banker of the Year Award

The President of Community Bank in Zanesville’s is honored with the Banker of the Year award.

President and CEO Michael Steen, was recently presented with the Ohio Bankers League’s 2014 Banker of the Year award. Steen has been with the bank in Zanesville for about 13 years now and has done a lot of work with both federal and state government on behalf of the Ohio banking industry.

“It’s based on the fact that I was so involved in the lobbying effort for community banks in general an across the country. And I was also the Ohio representative, for friends of traditional banking, which is also a group that’s a political action committee that takes, talks to politicians about things that community banks want, not large banks, but community banks.”

Steen says he is certainly honored to receive the award.

“It’s a lot of hard work to keep the politicians knowing what’s good for the community and bad, good for small banks and so on. I’m just real pleased to get it and surprised that I got it actually.”

Steen’s BankPac Shining Star-Banker of the Year award will be on display at the Community Bank in downtown Zanesville.
