Sheriff: Report of Two People Found Dead **Update**

The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of two people found dead in a home in Perry Township. Initial reports indicate the address is 5180 West Road. Sheriff Matt Lutz tells WHIZ News that investigators have confirmed two bodies in the home. In terms of the cause of death, he is not ruling anything out at the moment.

"Obviously, anytime we have a death it’s suspicious until we can rule it out," Lutz said. "So there are some things in there that are suspicious to us, and we’ll want to follow up on them to rule all that out before we make a determination of what we think happened here."

Lutz says that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called to assist in the case. A postal carrier says the woman who lives in the home, has not picked up her mail in around a week. A neighbor, Randy Hatfield, says the woman is not married and is around 70 years old. The incident remains under investigation and no other details have been released.
