Girl Scout Cookie Sales
It’s the time of year to get a dose of Girl Scout cookies.
Community Services Director, Kendra O’Reilly, is exited because for the first time in about five years the girl scouts have new flavors of cookies.
“This year we have two new flavors,” O’Reilly said. The first is our Rah Rah Raisin which is an oatmeal cookie with yogurt and raisin chips. I think it’s an excellent cookie, it’s one of our brand new cookies. The other one that we have that is brand new won’t be available until February 14 and it will be our toffee tastic which is a gluten free cookie.”
Even with the new cookies O’Reilly said the sales look to be a little lower compared to years passed, but that doesn’t affect her optimism. She believes that sales will increase when the initial orders come in and booth sales begin.
“The booth sales, they’re a great way for girls to get out and sell additional cookies afterwards, and it’s those customers that they get their initial cookies, they eat them and they want more,” O’Reilly said. “So that’s a great place for them to go pick up some more, or they realize oh, it’s girl scout cookie time when they see them getting delivered.”
Girl scouts are taking the initial orders until next Sunday, the 25th. Those orders will come in around Valentine’s Day. To place an order for some girl scout cookies you can contact 800-621-7042 or visit gsooh.org
