Every Rose Was Once A Bud- Pet Of The Week

Each week our friends over at the Animal Shelter Society select a furry friend to be featured as their pet of the week.

This week it’s eight-year-old Rose Bud, who was dropped off at the Animal Shelter via owner surrender. She’s on the lookout for her new forever home.

“Rose Bud came to us about a week ago,” said Animal Shelter Executive Director, Jody Murray. “She was part of a large litter. Rose Bud is about eight-years-old, weighs about thirteen pounds, she’s just a cute little shih tzu. As you can see she’s very calm, likes people.”

Rose Bud is a timid yet lovable dog who loves to stick out her tongue. According to Murray she’ll make a great pet for someone looking for an indoor dog to snuggle up on the couch with. However, if you miss your chance with Rose Bud you may make a connection with one of her thirteen siblings.

“We actually took all of them to Lucy’s grooming, and they were generous enough to groom all of them for us,” stated Murray. “They’re all looking pretty good now, not all of them have had surgery yet, we’re getting caught up on the surgeries on them, but if someone is interested they can come in we’ll get the surgery scheduled and we can finalize the adoption.”

If you’re interested in making Rose Bud, or one of her siblings a permanent addition to your family, visit the animal shelter society on Newark Road between 10 a.m.and 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
