Initiating Access
SOUTH ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Muskingum County Library System wants to be the place that transforms learning into excitement.
The American Library Association recognizes September as National Library Card Sign-up month and the South Branch library will be holding a Transformers themed event Wednesday that will encourage library card sign-up in a fun and new way.
“Library cards are free. They’re usually pretty easy to get. Here at Muskingum County Library System we just require something that shows your name and current address. And you can reap so many benefits from having a library card,” MCLS South Branch Library Customer Service Specialist Jennifer Heston said.
MCLS offers three types of library cards; an all-access card, as well as a student card and a teachers card, which share access to all the informational materials and benefits but each offer flexibility toward how much can be checked out and put on hold at one time.
“We are also having an event for kids, which is 2-to-12, called ‘Transformers Take Over The Library.’ This Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. we’ll be doing some fun activities that are Transformers themes that are a lot of nostalgia for adults with those toys. I played with them when I was growing up and we’ll just be having a little… some fun activities around that,” Heston said.
Library cards and replacement cards are free and can be obtained anytime at any of the six Muskingum County Library System’s branches.
