ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – At it’s meeting on Monday, the Zanesville City Council discussed an ordinance that would authorize the proper city official to reduce the water and sewer tap fees for the new Genesis Bethesda Campus. The first reading of the ordinance was approved Monday evening, and it will go through two more readings at upcoming meetings before a final vote.

Deadline to File Petition to Run in Next Election

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – Monday, David Tarbert filed his petition, to run as city law director, with the Board of Elections making him the second to file a petition and the first to run as law director. Anyone wishing to run for city or county office must have their petition completed and turned into the Board of Elections by 4 P.M. on February 4th.

Wounded Warriors Fundraiser at American Pride 

ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – Shelly and Sands set-up a patriotic Wounded Warriors excavator outside of American Pride Monday as part of a fundraising effort. All funds donated to the Wounded Warrior Project nationwide go toward providing assistance to injured veterans and their families.

Ohio Hunters Upset Over Lack of Deer

COLUMBUS, OHIO (AP) – Ohio hunters say they’re frustrated by a drop in the number of deer being bagged this hunting season. State estimates say Ohio hunters will bag about 180,000 deer during the 2014 – 2015 season, nearly 11,500 fewer deer than last year’s season.
