Mayor Jeff Tilton wants more time in office

The Mayor of Zanesville said he likes what he’s doing and wants four more years of it.

Jeff Tilton got the necessary signatures and filed his petition to be on the May 5 ballot, and he said he is ready to run to be re-elected as mayor. Voters selected Tilton four years ago, and he said he hopes they do it again.

“I truly think we’ve done great things, and one of my campaign slogans from last time is I want to make the city better as I leave, and I hope I get another four years before I leave, so I hope that we can make a lot more things happen within the city of Zanesville,” Tilton said.

Tilton outlined one of the things his administration is currently working on. That is, the economic development of downtown and the entire city. He said he works with the port authority to spur this movement along.

“We’re working on a comprehensive master plan to look up development in different areas throughout the city so that we can move forward,” Tilton said.

Tilton said that he loves being the mayor of the city because the work is different day in and day out. For those wishing to run for public office in May, the filing deadline is February 4 at 4:00 p.m.
