Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra Gears Up for Royal 50th Anniversary Season

ZANESVILLE, OH – The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra is getting ready for a season of Royalty.
The Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra will open their Royal 50th Anniversary Season with Puddles Pity Party on October 20th at 7PM in Secrest Auditorium.
Dr. Laura Schumann, the Music Director and Conductor of the Southeastern Ohio Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Music at Muskingum University, says they wanted to make this season as special as possible for the community.
“We’ve discussed go big, or go home on this one, so we’re going big.” Dr. Schumann said. “First concert features Puddles Pity Party and if you’ve seen anything about Puddles, there’s a YouTube channel: “Puddles Pity Party”, Puddles has worked with Postmodern Jukebox, an amazing singer, he was featured on America’s Got Talent, so he’s performed all over the world. He’s well known in San Francisco, Washington D.C., European Countries, he’s performed in London, he goes everywhere.”
SEOSO’s 50th Anniversary Season continues with their Annual Christmas Concert in December, a performance in Brown Chapel at Muskingum University in March, and wraps up on April 27th with their Season Finale.
Dr. Schumann says this is a great opportunity for the Orchestra to be able to perform with some big names in the music world.
“It’s so cool, it’s a wonderful opportunity to not only have our fantastic musicians in this area, they are musicians from the area, they are faculty and students of Muskingum University, we have some high school apprentice students from John Glenn and Zanesville.” Dr. Schumann said. “So we have some great opportunities for our local, yet wonderful musicians and musicians that come from around the state to perform with these international soloists. We put it together and what an exciting opportunity for everybody.”
Memberships for the 50th Anniversary season are $50.
