Council Discusses Linden Draining Project

Miss Ohio and local Girl Scouts started out Monday’s council meeting by leading the pledge of allegiance.

Council discussed an ordinance to apply for OWDA low interest loan funding for the Linden Draining Project. We spoke to Mayor Jeff Tilton who gave us an overview of the situation.

“We’ve had problems down in that area for many many years. We’ve had houses flooded–during large storms the houses flood so we’ve been working on this for several years and in the last year or so we’ve got a right of way through the old lear property and now we’re moving forward with fixing the drainage problem in that area.”

The drainage problem is located by Armco on Linden. When the project begins, road closures will likely be taking place when the time comes. Tilton says fixing this problem will be very beneficial to the community.

“If you go down linden you can see where Armco actually built an earthen wall to try to protect their property but hopefully with putting this drainage in we will resolve that problem.”

The ordinance passed through its first reading Monday. There is no set completion date for the drainage project.
