ZPD Loses Phone Service
The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency says the Zanesville Police Department has lost all phone service after an accident. E-M-A Director Bo Keck says a Columbia Gas Company crew doing some work accidentally severed all phone lines to the Zanesville Police Department, including 9-1-1. But Keck says he immediately switched all 9-1-1 calls into ZPD to the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office. But anyone trying to make non-emergency calls to the police station will not be able to do so until repairs are made. Keck says that could take a few hours. ZPD now has a cell phone for non-emergency calls — the number is 740 819-8578 or 740 252-7092.
