Drake Prouty Sworn In as County Commissioner

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Drake Prouty has done his fair share of serving the community. He’s been a trustee for two townships in the county and has volunteered with the sheriff’s office and the Dresden Fire Department.

Now, he’s a Muskingum County Commissioner and was sworn into the position Monday morning at the Muskingum County Courthouse.

Prouty said his top priority is reevaluating government efficiency by looking at each government department. He hopes it will give a better outlook for residents.

“Also look for other opportunities for enhancement of financial gain, not only for Muskingum County but the residents as well and try to make the quality of life a little bit better here,” Prouty said.

Prouty joins Cindy Cameron and Melissa Bell as a new commissioner. For him, being a commissioner is all about serving the community.

“We have a fresh look, and we all have agendas to do,” Prouty said. “We have a job to do and that is to provide taxpayers with the best decisions that we all three can make together to make Muskingum County better.”

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz was also sworn in at the courthouse. This is his fifth term as sheriff.
