Dairy Queen has Free Cone Monday
For the past 75 years, Dairy Queen has been whipping up ice cream for its customers.
To mark its anniversary the company has events planned throughout the year. Monday, DQ served free small cones to anyone who wanted one. The manager of the Maple Avenue Dairy Queen said “Free Cone Monday” is a great way to kick off the Spring season.
“Very good, very positive, lot of cones already today, so we’re hoping to keep it going all day long. And just kick off Spring and the year on a positive note with everybody,” Manager, Jim Meier said. “Kind of a thank you for 75 good years.”
Many people made their way to DQ to get their free cone it made today a busy one, but he said it’s fun to be able to give people a smile and some ice cream.
“It’s a lot of fun,”Meier said. “Sure it’s a lot of work, but it’s a lot of fun. Everybody’s happy. Everybody’s excited, so it makes the day go faster, and everybody’s in a good mood. Free ice cream. 1:04 ”
Meier said Dairy Queen is very weather oriented. As he said it’s hard to sell ice cream in the snow, and he is looking forward to the Spring season.
