PURE Arts Center To Hold Open House
The PURE Arts Center invites you out to their upcoming grand opening.
The building is located on Woodlawn Avenue in the current PURE Center building. Artist Colony of Zanesville President and Director of the Arts Council of Muskingum County Dave Mitzel told us more about what the pure arts center will be.
“The pure arts center is drawing upon the heritage of the PURE Center. Many of the works that we’ll have will be works that have been created by people of color. Right now for our first opening, we’re doing people from Zanesville who have painted or photographed objects or buildings of Zanesville or people.”
Dave Jospeh will be offering entertainment and you’ll also be able to enjoy food and traditional beverages. All of the pieces will be for sale, ranging from $50 to $1,200. The money will go toward the nonprofit arts council of Muskingum county.
“The local arts basically would be our best opportunity to develop this community. Community development, economic development through the arts. Its been accomplished elsewhere, and this is what we’re doing here.”
The event will be held on Friday, April 3rd from 5PM to 10PM in the Putnam Historic District. The public is invited. Mitzel says everyone should, “have a piece of Zanesville in their homes.”
