Recent Storms cause Muskingum Flooding

April showers may bring May flowers, but severe storms brings water pouring into people’s yards.

Residents on Pioneer Drive, just south of Duncan Falls on State Route 60 are feeling the hurt from days of strong rain and wind. Trees blown over and water slowly rising, surrounding houses, but not yet rushing into them. We spoke with several residents who did not wish to appear on camera, but they said it’s a problem they deal with each Spring. And each year, one family busts out their wheelbarrow, not for gardening, but for grocery trips. Instead of unloading groceries from their car to the house, they must first put them in a wheelbarrow to get them through knee deep water. They say the summers on the river make dealing with the flooding all worth it.
