First Day of The Carr Center Cake Auction
The wait is finally over! The Carr Center Cake Auction officially kicked off Thursday.
It all started at 8:15 Thursday morning, with cakes and incentives going every fiteen minutes. Something new that was offered this year is the donor board. Kim Hosler, Executive Director of the center told us,
“Every morning, every afternoon we have the donor board going. And that board is being sponsored by four local banks for persons who don’t want to be involved in the just purchasing of a cake and the incentive they can just simply call in and make a donation to the Carr Center.”
This year’s auction has already surpassed last year’s number of cakes entered, and if you want to participate, there is still time to enter a last minute cake! Hosler said,
“We actually are still taking entries for tomorrow so it just doesn’t stop. I have to say everyone is having a lot of fun, spirits are real good, there are good bargains and good packages, it’s feeling very positive for us”.
The second day of the cake auction starts again Friday at 8:15 in the morning and runs until 6PM. The event will be broadcast live on AM 1240 Radio and streamed live on our website, whiznews.com. At last report, the auction raised around $42,000 with two more segments to go.
