Council Discusses Vacation Of Portion Of Dresden Road

Zanesville City Council held their second of two monthly meetings Monday evening.

Public hearings were held for two different ordinances to be added to the agenda prior to the council meeting. One of those dealt with a request by Frueh Enterprises Incorporated to vacate a portion of Dresden Road near the point at Maple. We spoke to Pat Denbow, Planning and Zoning Administrator for the city, who told us more.

"So that they can increase the amount of property they have in front of the properties they own. The right of way that they are requesting to be vacated currently is just a grassy area. It doesn’t have any improved portions to it."

This vacation would give a little more property to Frueh. Denbow said it should not create any other access issues for other properties. Denbow explained the project has been given some attention by the community.

"A lot of people have called to ask questions about it, curious about if it is going to effect anything. But we’ve been able to assure them that its not."

The ordinance passed through its first reading. It will appear for its second reading in two weeks.
