Heather Bowers in Court

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – 24-year-old Heather Bowers was in court Wednesday and entered a not guilty plea to two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, four counts of aggravated vehicular assault, and two counts of operating a vehicle under the influence. Judge Fleegle continued bowers bond as set at 100 thousand dollars.

Swearing-in Ceremony

NEWARK, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Newark Police Department held a swearing in ceremony for three officers Wednesday. Officer Clint Eskins, was promoted to sergeant. Officer Melanie Angle recently came out of retirement to serve as a reserve officer, and Brody Maring was sworn in as a new officer.

Jim Tressel to Speek at Zane State Graduation

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – Former Buckeye football coach, Jim Tressel, will be delivering the commencement speech Zane State next weekend. There are no more tickets available for graduation, but it will be streamed live on Zane State’s website beginning at 10 AM on Saturday May 9th.

Hydrant Flushing in Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Zanesville Fire Department continues its hydrant flushing Thursday. Areas affected include Muskingum Ave., Moxahala Ave., Putnam Ave., Woodlawn Ave., Jewett Dr., and Lake Dr., including all side streets to the city limits.
