Pet Of The Week: Amelia (and a Yard Sale Too!)
You won’t have to fly a plane around the world to find that purr-fect companion and four legged friend.
Meet Amelia, The Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week. She is a year and a half old Maine Coon and is looking for a loving home. She has already had her surgery and is ready to go to a good home. Executive Director Jody Murray told us more about her personality.
"She just likes to be held, I think she would make a good family cat because she does like to be held. She is just very calm and she talked a little bit coming over to the bingo hall here today but since we got her over here shes been pretty quiet so I think she would make a nice addition to someone’s house."
Murray says she was adopted several months ago, but the family returned her due to allergy issues. This pretty kitty’s adoption fee is $60, and you can come visit her at the shelter during their operating hours. Murray also wanted to remind us about their second annual yard sale May 2nd at the M.A.S.S. Bingo Hall.
"It’s just another way to support the shelter. All the vendors are paying for tables and that money will help the shelter and then also back behind us you can see a lot of items that have been donated to the shelter that we’ll be selling tomorrow and of course all those funds come back to help the shelter."
The doors open at 8AM. Murray says there will be 45 to 50 tables of items for sale. Those who attend will also be able to buy snacks and tickets for the Summer Jam Cornhole tournament. Murray invites the community to come out and support their cause.
