Bishops Athletic Association Raises Money

The Rosecrans Bishops conquered the Green Valley Golf Course May 17.

The Bishops Athletic Association (BAA) hosted a golf outing in order to raise money for athletic causes for Rosecrans high school. President of BAA Mark Johnston says that although the rain left them without their entire list of reserved golfers. Almost 70 people still participated.

“We’re probably in the neighborhood of 5,000 to 6,000 in a one day event which is a good event,” said Johnston.

Off the green there was plenty of food available. Hamburgers and fresh cut fries were part of the barbecue menu. Johnston said that he has a lot of people to thank for their help with the fundraiser.

“So we have two different entities that kind of work together,” said Johnston. “This event is sponsored by the baa and the boosters were actually here to help as well.”

The money rasied will go toward uniforms and field upgrades. The BAA is also raising money alongside the school every other Monday with bingo hosted at Bishop Rosecrans High School.
