Downtown Zanesville Building Demolished

After decades of standing at the corner of 7th and Markets Streets in downtown Zanesville, the Modern Cleaners building is no more. 

A fence was placed around the building last week in preparation for demolition. Crews arrived early Monday morning to tear the structure down. According to the building and code enforcement office, demolition was ordered in February because an engineer’s report classified the building as unsafe due to extensive termite damage.
