Mother and Child Hospitalized; Baby Dies in Fire

Cannelville, OH- A fire on East Street in Cannelville has claimed the life of a child.

The fire broke out Friday afternoon at trailer home. The Roseville Fire Department said two helicopters were called in for injuries to a mother and her two-year-old child.  The mother suffered second degree burns and the two-year-old has third degree burns.

Fire Chief Russell Taylor with the South Zanesville Fire Department said, an eight-month-old baby could not be located and it was later found the baby had died. The State Fire Marshal was on the scene.

The home is considered a total loss. It is not known what caused the fire.
