Hunger Movement Continues in Muskingum County
The United Way met with the Hunger Network at the Muskingum County Business Incubator (MCBI) May 29, to discuss the future of their movement to end hunger in Muskingum County.
The day acted as an update to meetings that occurred in the fall of 2014. The group is seeking ways to better the hunger situation in the local community and Community Impact Coordinator for the United Way Amy Davis said they have already seen improvement in the area
“We’ve done a little bit of work in the mean time and this is just to give an update to that group on what’s been going on so far,” said Davis.
Doug Swift and associates from Newark’s ‘Think Tank’ came to present their work in the Newark area in order to aid those working in Muskingum County. The remainder of the meeting was spent working to decide on the next steps in the hunger movement. Davis said that they are working to empower those in need.
“Making sure [we know] what the needs are, of our clients, and what they need… but also how they can help the community,” said Davis.
The ‘Hunger Movement’ will continue to work to end hunger in the local community.
