Family Fun Day is back at the Animal Shelter

The Animal Shelter in Muskingum County is gearing up for their Family Fun Day tomorrow.

The event will include food, games, crafts, and a Chinese Auction. The Sheriff’s Office will also make an appearance to perform a canine exercise. Executive Director at the Animal Shelter Jody Murray said it’s just a day to spread awareness about the local shelter.

“We’ve been trying for the last several years to let the public know about the Animal Shelter,” said Murray. “Although we’ve been around for 50 years we’re kind of the best kept secrets around here so it’s just our opportunity invite people to come out. ”

Tours of the facility will also be available and any veteran looking to adopt will get 50 percent off of the adoption fee even if the pet is sponsored. Murray said it’s the least the shelter can do for those who sacrificed so much.

“Because we just feel like it’s our opportunity to give back to them for the things they’ve done for us,” said Murray.

The event will take place from 10 until two at the Animal Shelter tomorrow and Murray hopes to see the community join them.
