Careytown hosts Family Fun Day

Careytown Preschool hosted their ‘Family Fun Day’ today.

The parking lot filled up with families from the school and the community to play games, eat food and learn a few things too. Board Member at Careytown Kim Matthews said it’s an affordable way to give families time together.

“Tickets [cost] six tickets for a dollar for the games and all games are one ticket each.. so very low cost to get so much,” said Matthews.

There was also plenty to learn. The Police Department stopped by to take fingerprints and the Fire Department provided a truck and some useful information. There was also a literacy program on site. All funds from ticket cost will benefit the school.

“The money goes right back into Careytown Preschool to benefit all the children and the activities they do on a daily basis,” said Matthews.

Players from the Zanesville High School football team and members of the local Girl Scout troop came to volunteer with the event which took place until six this evening.
