Shift Youth Ministries Holds Glow Run

Runners lit up the night at the annual SHIFT5K Glow Run Saturday.

It’s the events fifth year and the second for the Glow Run. It took place at The Barracks in Duncan Falls behind Cornerstone Full Gospel Church. The cost to run in the race was $20 which included a shirt. Event Director, Troy Hunter said all the money went to support the Shift Youth Ministry.

“Our mission here at Shift Youth Ministries, which is apart of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, is to really connect and get the teens in the area a family [and] a home. We’ve had people here who come from depression, people who have been suicidal and the teens in this area–we just have a passion for them and that’s the reason that we do all this.”

The event raises thousands of dollars and in rare road race fashion. Runners got to enjoy a bonfire after finishing. If you missed the race and would like to donate to the youth group and their work, you can do so by calling the number: (740) 674-5062
