Markham to Perform at Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend
One local band is gearing up to entertain crowds with its unique blues style at Veteran’s Appreciation Weekend.
Markham will be performing Saturday night at Terry’s Tavern as part of the weekend long event. Band member, Hunter Lepi, said the band is honored to perform at such a meaningful event.
“My grandpa was in the Navy, you know I have other family members who have been in the Army and Navy,” he said. “It’s a great cause and we’re just happy to be a part of it, and that we were considered for it, and that they wanted to have us in general, so we’re really grateful for it.”
The band, comprised of three original members, will be selling its new album, “Tales of Polished Lies” at the event, and will be donating half of the profit to the Wounded Warrior Project. Lepi said guests can expect an eclectic style of music, with original songs as well.
“We’ll play some blues, we’ll play some original songs that we wrote. We like a different array of music, we like country and western, we like old blues, the Chicago electric blues,” he said. “I think the two things you can expect out of a Markham show are devotion and enthusiasm with the music that we play, and that we can guarantee every time.”
The band will perform live on the Lorena at Terry’s Tavern from 10 p.m. to midnight on Saturday.
