Accident Kills Lancaster Man

The State Highway Patrol said speed is believed to be a factor in an early Wednesday morning crash that killed one person.

The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol said around 1:30 Wednesday morning, 22-year-old Robert R. Canter of Lancaster was traveling south on County road 33A, when he failed to maintain control of his vehicle.

He drove off the right side of the roadway, crossed over County Road 37, striking a ditch and fence.

Troopers said he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was ejected from his vehicle.

Canter was transported to Grant Medical Center where he died of his injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
