Man Charged In Crooksville Woman’s Death
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation says that an arrest has been made in connection with the death of a Crooksville woman. 46-year-old Joseph Bryant was arrested Friday. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old Kayla Barnett Calendine. She was found dead on March 17th on Washington Street just off State Route 669. B-C-I public information officer Jill Delgreco says investigators think Bryant engaged in a pattern of abuse against the victim and that’s believed to have caused her death. Initially investigators thought the bruising on her body may have been caused by a medical condition. Bryant is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail in Nelsonville.
