Matthew West To Perform In Zanesville
Well known Christian singer and songwriter Matthew West will be giving a performance this coming July.
The concert will be held on July 10th at Secrest Auditorium and doors will open at 6:30PM. Co-owner of Dusty Guitar Promotions, Ryan Dodson said local churches can compete in a Battle of the Bands to open for the artist. Dodson explained more about how it works.
“They’re going to sell tickets and whichever band sells the most tickets will get to open on the main stage.” said Dodson, “Churches get to keep ten percent of ticket sales so if there’s youth groups and that sort of thing that want to do a fundraiser, tickets are twenty-five dollars.”
There will also be a runners-up performance at the pre-party in the basement of Secrest. Churches have until June 30th to sell their tickets. Churches can also participate in the concert festivities by selling concessions prior to the show. All of the concessions will be provided by the participating church and they will be able to keep one hundred percent of the proceeds. Dodson said this isn’t the first time West has made an appearance in the area.
“He just actually played in Newark in May so it’s a short time frame coming back to the market….The comments online have been very positive. People say that its been one of the best shows that they’ve ever been to and that sort of thing so people were real happy with the show.”
You can buy tickets starting this Friday at the Secrest Box Office and from local churches who are selling. Right now those churches are Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls and Rolling Plains United Methodist Church in South Zanesville. You can also purchase tickets from Dusty Guitar Promotions.
